Narrandera Farm Painting and Restoration

Narrandera is a town in the central Riverina region of New South Wales. Narrandera is most famous for being one of the easiest places to spot koalas in the wild, but there is also a thriving farming community here. Early 2026 was the first time I worked in this particular town, but it wasn’t the last!

In February 2026, we received an email from a farmer in Narrandera. The farmer’s family members had discovered our website through social media and had advised them to take a look. The farmer liked our work and booked a free consultation.

The farmer had previously had a farm painter who periodically came out to their farm. However, this particular farm painter had retired and the farmer had gone without a painter for many years.

There was, therefore, a lot to be painted around the farm!

Narrandera Farm Painting

As always, all roofs, silos, and sheds had been pressure cleaned, screwed (if needed), and treated with a penetrol-based primer. The primer has been specially formulated to ‘hold back’ any further progression of rust.

The weather can be very hot and dry in Narrandera. Red dust is also an issue (Narrandera is en-route to the Nullarbor, so you can imagine!) Therefore, I recommended an aluminium-based silver paint.

The paint I often use for farms is an aluminium-based silver paint. The metal from the paint adds an additional layer of rust-proof protection to the penetrol. Additionally, this particular paint reflects heat which further protects silos, roofs and sheds from the elements.

Here are some befores and afters:

Narrandera Silo Painting

First Set of Silos

On the left, you can see how the silos looked before being washed, treated, and painted silver. On the right, you can see the silos once the project was completed.

Second Set of Silos

On the left image, you can see how the silos looked before being washed, treated, and painted silver. The image on the right reveals the silos once the project was completed.

Narrandera Shed Roof Painting

I had painted many roofs around this particular farm! Below, you can see their befores and afters which were taken once the project was completed.

Shed Roof One

In this image, you can see the before (left) of this large shed roof and the finished result (right).

This image was taken from the top of this shed roof. You can see the before on the left and the after on the right.

Shed Roof Two

In this image, you can see the before (left) of this small shed roof and the finished result (right).

Narrandera House Roof Painting

Below, you can see the before and after of a house roof I painted. Despite the fact this was a house roof, the process was the same: pressure-wash, screw, penetrol, and paint.

You may notice by now that I mainly work on farms. However, if you have a house roof in Narrandera you would like me to look at, don’t hesitate to get in touch for a free assessment. You can contact me here.

This house roof wasn’t too bad before (left) but a little bit of paint has gone a long way (right).

Narrandera Hay Shed Painting

Hay Shed One

This hay shed roof had seen better days (left) but it wasn’t as bad as the other hay shed roof (see below). With a quick clean, treatment, and paint this hay shed came up brand new (right).

Hay Shed Two

The second hay shed roof had rusted much worst than the first (left). However, it turned out even better than expected (right).

Narrandera Silo Cone Painting

Finally, I cleaned, treated, and painted these silo cones. During the restoration of larger silos, the cones are included. However, sometimes, farmers just want the cones painted, but not the full silos (just weeks before this project, I also painted silo cones for a farmer in Stockinbingal).

Please note, while I do paint silos cones, this work is typically carried out as part of larger contracts.

The silo cones were yellow, old and rusted (left). The right rust-proof coatings have given this silo cone a new lease on life (right).
