Temora Silo Painting and Restoration Project

Early in 2026, I was hired by a farming family to paint their farm silos in Temora, New South Wales. Technically, their farm was just outside of the main town of Temora, but they were still within the area.

My father and I have painted many roofs, silos, and sheds around the Temora area over the last 10 years. After my father passed, I returned to Temora just in case any of our past customers wanted work done on their farm.

Unexpectedly, I ended up taking on a lot of new clients in the Temora area. This farming family were one of them. They had seen my advertisement boards around town and hired me to paint some silos.

First, they hired me to paint three silos on the main part of their farm. Here was the process:

Painting Temora Farm Silos - First Project

As always, these silos were cleaned prior to treating and painting. They were then treated with a penetrol-based protective coating and painted with a paint membrane which has been specially designed to withstand the harsh Australian weather.

Here are the results:

Despite the size of these silos, this project was completed relatively quickly because weather conditions were perfect for washing, rust-treating, and painting. Believe it or not, these silos took just over one week to complete.

Painting Temora Farm Silos - Second Project

My clients were ecstatic with the results of the first set of silos. As such, they hired me to work on nine more silos on their farm.

This project was a little bit more complex as we had to transport a water truck around different parts of the farm, but this isn’t something I am not used to! Regardless of the obstacles, I am committed to delivering a successful outcome.

Once the silos were cleaned, I treated them with a penetrol-based protective coating and I applied two coats of specialised paint. These silos then turned out sparkling white - everyone was very pleased with the results.

Here they are:
